Lake Wenchi is the ideal spot for nature lovers. Once an active volcano, the crater now contains a deep blue lake which is surrounded by lush valleys and hot mineral springs. Located about 3000 m above sea level, lake Wenchi is one of Ethiopia’s most beautiful natural attractions. Cherkos monastery, one of the oldest monasteries of Ethiopia, is located to the North of the lake.
