The Mursi people

In southern Ethiopia, along the Omo River in the Mago National Park, are the Mursi people. These semi-nomads are among the last tribes of Africa where bodily mutilation is still present. The women Mursi wear disc-shaped ornaments, or plates, to the lips. The Mursi are also known for the Thagine, a ritual that takes place in the form of a fight where single men compete to prove their courage.
