Debre Berhan Selassie church is not to be missed if you are in the region of Gondar. This church is well-known for its ancient paintings and frescoes (walls and ceilings), dating since 1815. This rectangular Orthodox church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity, where it is customary for women to take place on the right side of the church and men on the left. As with all Ethiopian churches, it is customary to go in barefoot.
This church was built on a hill away from the city. The paintings, bearing 80 faces of angels having an enigmatic look, have been restored by the UNESCO.
