Resembling the baboon and living in the highlands of Ethiopia, the gelada is also known as the bleeding-heart monkey. It is the only living species of the genus Theropithecus. Moreover, the destruction of its habitat by men and global warming, makes it endangered. National Geographic describes it as an “exceptional” species, since they do not climb trees and spend their time sitting eating grass.
