Formerly the home of Emperor Menelik II, Mount Entoto is nicknamed the “lung of Addis Ababa”. Located to the northeast of the capital city and covered with a vast eucalyptus forest, Entoto is a haven for those in search of peace. The highest peak of Entoto mountains, Mount Entoto houses monasteries and churches, making it a holy place. From the very top is a breathtaking view of the capital city, Addis Ababa. Moreover, an astronomical observatory has been installed there since 2013.
